13 Awful TV Shows Star Trek Actors Want Us To Forget

11. George Takei - The New Normal

If there’s one thing we can say about camp character actor George Takei’s post-Trek career, it’s that the ageing actor is second only to Patrick Stewart in terms of his willingness to parody his more serious earlier roles. Some of his comic cameos have been a delight, and the actor’s easy charisma can make appearances on everything from Family Guy to The Big Bang Theory palatable.

There’s very little which Takei can’t wring a smile from, but Glee creator Ryan Murphy’s one season flop The New Normal managed to waste the thespian in a thankless role embedded in an unfunny show full of them—it’s just as well this one was cancelled fast enough for most viewers to miss it entirely.
