13 CW Actors Who Deserve An Emmy Nomination

Supernatural is one of the last remaining relics from a bygone era, outlasting fellow CW veterans Smallville and The Vampire Diaries to reach its 15th Season and, while a large part of that success is down to its devoted fanbase, this incredible accomplishment simply would not have been possible without its two foundations: Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

The pair are veterans of their craft, so it's no surprise that they know their characters immensely well, with Ackles continuing to effectively bring out the grit (and underlying emotion) in Dean Winchester while Padalecki continues to channel the emotional side of Sam - reminding viewers why he's the heart of the show.

That said, they both coped really well with the altered dynamic this season. Ackles was nothing short of phenomenal whenever he played the suave and calculating Michael, and this ultimately paved the way for Padalecki to deliver some reliably strong work as Sam reacted to his brother's possession.

They've both been doing this for almost 15 years and still they manage to make it seem fresh, compelling and totally believable - even if the material isn't always any of those things - and, in doing so, they constantly remind viewers that, although the show's cast has increased in recent years, they could just as easily be doing all of this on their own (much like they did for the first couple of seasons).

They've been a joy to watch together and, with the show set to leave our screens for good next season, it would be nice if they were honoured with some long overdue Emmy nominations.
