3. Gallifrey Falls No More (The Day Of The Doctor)

No Doctor Who devotee will ever forget their adrenaline-filled first viewing of the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor (whether that was alone at home in a dark room or surrounded by their fellow fans at their local cinema) and the momentous feature-length extravaganza gave us its fair share of memorable moments that won't just go down in Doctor Who legend, but in TV history too. Any series celebrating half a century on our screens would do it in spectacular style (just look at Coronation Street's tram crash...) but there's no other franchise that could do it with the amount of gusto that Doctor Who brought to the timey-wimey table back in November 2013. One of the historic episode's most notable developments was the return of Gallifrey when it was revealed that - after eight years of being told otherwise - the Doctor hadn't destroyed it during the Time War after all and that it had actually been residing in a pocket universe this whole time. Who knew!? Well, the Doctor certainly didn't and so it was a genuinely heartfelt moment when every incarnation of the titular Time Lord joined forces to ensure the restoration of their home planet.
