13 Great Non-Doctor Who Performances By Each Doctor

3. Jon Pertwee In Whodunnit

If you were growing up in the 1990s, Jon Pertwee was Mr. Saturday Night. He would regularly show up on the likes of Noel's House Party, Celebrity Squares, Paul Daniels Magic Show and Surprise Surprise. More than any other Doctor, he embraced the fame that the role brought and appearing on such light entertainment shows no doubt appealed to his background in comedy and variety.

Prior to this, Pertwee had shifted from acting to presenting back in the mid-to-late 1970s with the appropriately named Whodunnit? This was a panel show in which Pertwee would challenge his celebrity guests to solve a fictional murder - written and performed via video links. Pertwee was, unsurprisingly, an affable host, riffing with his guests and engaging in the kind of easy banter that you could enjoy in his convention appearances throughout the 80s and 90s.

The murders themselves were increasingly over-the-top and complex, with one taking place in the future and another portraying the Brigadier himself, Nicholas Courtney as a ballroom dancer who dies in mysterious circumstances. It's a real hoot.
