13 Inspirational Quotes From Each Incarnation Of Doctor Who

2. The Eleventh Doctor

€œThe way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.€ - Vincent & The Doctor
In his eleventh incarnation the Doctor was, perhaps, at his most poetic. It may be that the overall 'fairytale' style given to the Matt Smith era of the show added to the sense of beauty imbued in the language used by the Doctor or perhaps in was in Matt Smith's contradictory old/young delivery, but this incarnation of the Doctor seemed to give a sense of power and wonder to everything he said. This quotation, taken from Richard Curtis' 'Vincent and the Doctor', is perhaps one of the all-time fan favourite lines. The Doctor explains to Amy the nature of human life, depression and the sad passing of Vincent Van Gogh in a succinct, simple and beautiful speech which was sure to have the audience holding back the tears. Something fans can take away and apply to their own ups and downs, this quote is truly beautiful in its simple yet moving nature.
