13 Reasons Why Hannah Baker Katherine Langford

There aren't enough words to describe Katherine Langford's performance as Hannah Baker.

It might sound cliché to say that the star of the show ended up stealing it but that was entirely the case here. A relative newcomer, she was instantly thrown into the spotlight as the lead of a huge TV series in which she was surrounded by some of the most promising young talents in Hollywood today (as well as a number of formidable veterans), and she never crumbled under the pressure. In fact, she thrived.

Hannah Baker was a complex young woman who knew grief, despair, happiness, anger and just about every other emotion a human being is capable of feeling, and Langford expertly portrayed each and every single layer, giving life to a multi-faceted performance that made it impossible not to get drawn into the character's story.

She was endearing, heartfelt, enigmatic, heartbreaking and compelling all at the same time, becoming everything the story needed her to be and so much more. And that made it very easy to get attached to Hannah Baker and ultimately long for a much different outcome to her story.

Langford made an unforgettable impact on us all with a career-defining performance that rightfully earned her a Golden Globe nomination, proving herself as one of the most talented actresses of her generation.
