13 Reasons Why Season 3 Trailer Reactions: 3 Ups & 3 Downs

1. A New Mystery

You don't need 13 reasons to explain why the second season didn't work. Like we've already said, the main issue with it was that the story, Hannah's story, was over and to continue it would only be to dilute the show and the meaning behind the original narrative. Well, they did it anyway, and that's the exact reason so many fans rolled their eyes when they heard it was getting a third season.

However, as problematic as continuing the show without Hannah (or at all) is, resetting the status quo with a new story such as Bryce's murder may help to reboot it, so to speak. While Hannah will undoubtedly continue to be a presence, the show is attempting to move past the story and, while moving on isn't ideal, the only way to do so is to start a new one.

If anything, we should at least expect a coherent mystery, unlike Season 2 which delivered a terribly convoluted attempt at a mystery and only ended up diluting the story that the show initially set out to tell.
