13 Reasons Why Season 4: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
7. Ani Achola
After giving us far too much last season, Ani Achola finally came into her own during the show's final bow - and that, more than anything, allowed Grace Saif to shine.
Though Ani played more of a supporting role than before, she remained important to the plot as her unnerving dynamic with Winston was one of the season's more gripping subtextual narrative threads - the two of them were fully aware of the roles they played in the Bryce Walker affair and attempted to avoid talking about it because of how it could potentially destroy their goals.
Though her relationship problems with Clay felt a little out-of-nowhere given how they were drawn to each other last season, the pair had some great scenes together throughout. Her best relationship, however, was as Jessica's best friend. Giving her a confidante outside of Clay ultimately strengthened her as a character and that made it far easier to root for her.
This season, Ani became a person (instead of a plot device), and even though she was strangely written off for a number of episodes in the middle, she was used much, much better than before.
