4. Alex Has Finally Found Happiness

It goes without saying that the unexpected pairing of Alex and Charlie ended up becoming one of 13 Reasons Why's most endearing storylines. They make a great couple and provided the season with an abundance of sweet moments, but the most heartwarming thing about it all is the fact that Alex has finally found some peace in something he never expected to find it in: Love.

Alex Standall has been one of 13 Reasons Why's strongest characters from the very beginning. A deeply troubled individual who couldn't live with the guilt over his behaviour towards Hannah, he attempted to take his own life at the conclusion of Season 1. And much of his journey since has been his attempts to get his life back on track, atoning for his previous actions and ultimately trying to find the happiness that has eluded him for so long. He thought he had that with Jessica - who he did indeed love - but the heartbreak over their breakup was just another obstacle for him to overcome.

His unexpected questioning of his sexuality was this season's most refreshing storyline as it gave him another unforeseen chance at happiness, and in spite of his attempts to push Charlie away, he finally allowed himself to experience some of it. And now, he has found someone kind and decent, willing to look after him, love him and ultimately make him happy.

And after all he's been through, it's safe to say that he deserves it.
