4. Training Day

Training Day Bill Paxton
CBS

There's only one reason to even consider watching this small-screen spin-off from the Oscar-winning, Denzel Washington-starring movie, and that's an entertainingly scenery-chewing performance from the late Bill Paxton, who died before the season even finished airing.

Paxton is the single alluring element of an otherwise snoozy police procedural, dragged down by its network-friendly softening of the movie's R-rated edge, a drowsy performance by Justin Cornwell as Paxton's straight-laced partner, and both action and plot that exit the mind before each episode's even finished.

Dwindling ratings combined with Paxton's death prompted CBS to cancel the show three days before its season finale aired, and it's likely that nobody will even remember that it existed in a few months' time.
