Whether his surname is spelt Macrimmon or McCrimmon, James Robert was literally the best companion ever. Always a fan favourite, Jamie has returned to Doctor Who more than once. He appeared as a mirage in The Five Doctors and also played a considerable role in The Two Doctors. The actor who played Jamie - Frazer Hines - is still acting, so Jamie is one of the most practical candidates for returning to the series, if only for a single story. If the producers were to feel that Jamie is a little too on the elderly side now, perhaps his guest spot could be a means of introducing a younger relative? Maybe it could be his son who could then travel in the TARDIS and represent the proud traditions of the McCrimmons? It's not a new idea - the comic strip in the Doctor Who Adventures magazine featured a modern day female descendant of Jamie, Heather McCrimmon, however, a McCrimmon in the TARDIS needs to be an eighteenth century Highlander, complete with battle cry and knife at the ready. Creag an tuire! Did we miss a companion you'd like to see back? Tell us which past companion you'd like to see back in the TARDIS in the comments section below.
