14 Great Futurama Characters In Only One Episode

7. Steve "That Guy" Castle (Future Stock - Season 3, Episode 21)

Futurama Enos Fry
Fox

When Planet Express has a stockholders meeting, Fry gets bored and searches for food. In his search, he enters a support group meeting for cryogenic clients who have been defrosted, in which he comes across Steve Castle, who is referred to as “That Guy” by everyone throughout the episode.

Steve is a typical businessman from the 1980s – he’s slick, sleazy and very charismatic. He froze himself during the 20th century because he suffered from the deadly disease of Boneitis. In an unlikely turn of events, That Guy is able to overthrow Professor Farnsworth as the new CEO. None of the crew are happy about Steve’s new role in the company as he is changing it to be too corporate but Fry has faith in him.

Just as expected, Steve is a nasty con-man who used Fry’s gullible vulnerability in order to work his way to the top. Under the leadership of That Guy, Planet Express goes bankrupt and is sold to MOM corporations. Although initially against this change, the express crew support the company being sold to Mom because their stock will make them all rich.

Unfortunately, Steve never found a cure for Boneitis because he was too busy being a “go-go 80s Business man” and it kills him off before he can seal the deal with Mom, leaving Fry in control of everyone's shares. Once again, Planet Express never progresses further as a business and to everyone’s disappointment (except Fry’s), everyone remains friends.
