14th Doctor Who: 10 Actors Who Could Play Russell T. Davies’ Doctor

9. Jodie Comer

Olly Alexander Doctor Who
BBC America

Arguably one of the UK’s biggest rising stars, Doctor Who will need to act quickly to nab Jodie Comer before she becomes too big for the show. First making her mark as the insane assassin Villanelle in Killing Eve, Comer has gone from strength to strength, most recently appearing in the excellent, if traumatic, COVID-focused drama, Help - if you haven't watched this, do; it's a true tour-de-force from Comer.

It’s not hard to see why Comer is one of the fan-favourites for the role. Her ability to jump from light-hearted and manic to dark and menacing in a second has grabbed the attention of many Brits, and it won’t be long until she breaks into Hollywood, already having started in Ryan Reynolds’ new film: Free Guy.

The idea of having an actress of Comer’s calibre at the helm of the show is exciting indeed, and she may just be my personal pick for a female Doctor. Act fast, BBC. Your scribe speaks for many people when I say you don't want to miss an opportunity like this.
