15 Annoying Mistakes You Never Noticed In Doctor Who

1. The Two Doctors Debacle

During the Classic era, there was never a firm grip on Doctor Who€™s continuity thanks to both the eventual sheer number of episodes and the destruction of the majority of the First and Second Doctor stories. During the 1980s, Doctor Who fan and music producer Ian Levine was employed as Doctor Who€™s unofficial continuity consultant but one major error that even slipped by him was the plot for 1985€™s The Two Doctors. The story focuses on an encounter between the Second and Sixth Doctors, and starts with the Second Doctor and Jamie on a mission for the Time Lords to stop a pair of scientists€™ research into time travel. But apart from the Meddling Monk, the Time Lords don€™t make an appearance until the Second Doctor€™s final story The War Games (Season 6) where they almost instantly put him on trial for breaking their policy of non-intervention and exile him to Earth. Which makes the setup of the Second Doctor€™s side of The Two Doctors completely impossible. But Whovians are, if nothing, an inventive fandom who will stop at nothing to try and make all of the extraneous bits and pieces of the Doctor Who universe fit together in some way. And so the concept of Season 6B was born. The idea created by fans and later co-opted by the BBC for use in spin-off material was that at some point during his trial, the Doctor was recruited by the Time Lords to carry out a number of missions for them; allowing them to deal with matters they considered a threat but without breaking their own laws. This was definitely the biggest Doctor Who mistake to ever hit our screens but one that was resolved eventually. Even if it took years for the matter to be closed. What mistake can you not believe made it to screen? Let us know in the comments section below...
