Whenever you hear the word post-apocalypse, it's easy to roll your eyes and expect yet another run-of-the-mill, bland, dystopian future. But, don't expect anything so ordinary in this anime, as it's a wild, outlandish and utterly ridiculous ride.

In this anime, a plague has ravaged the land, causing countless deaths and turning the world into a post-apocalypse covered in rust. It's believed that this rust results from the strange mushrooms growing all around, but a doctor soon learns that these mushrooms may be the solution, not the problem. He and the titular Bisco (a wanted criminal archer) journey together to find a legendary mushroom that can eliminate the rust.

The show's focus on a world where mushrooms are some powerful entity used as a taboo product and even as a weapon is bizarre, to say the least. Still, Rust-Eater Bisco has no qualms with that, as it embraces the absurdity of its gimmick with open arms.

This show's visual style is bombastic and colourful, with sleek character designs and rich backgrounds. Plus, the action packs a big punch, making this a great series to sit back and have a good time with.
