15 Best Companions In Doctor Who History

The ones who left a lasting impression.

The Doctor's companions are quite a mixed bag, really. Some are infuriating, others brilliant. They have all affected (and tormented) the Doctor in one way or another over the years. Having somewhere in the region of 40 pass through the TARDIS doors over the last five decades, picking out the cream of the crop is not an easy job. And it is probably a foolhardy soul who would brave the renowned Doctor Who fandom, the Whovians, to produce a list like this.

It isn't a definitive list. That would be impossible. Still, it is an interesting exercise. One thing that is clear is that the well worn stereotype of the Doctor's Companion as a short skirted, hapless girl who can do nothing but get into trouble and scream is unfounded. Yes, some do wear short skirts, and several do indeed scream, but they are in fact incredibly strong women. And not even all of them are female. Quite a few guys have seen time in the TARDIS, too. Some of them have their own moments of screaming, though in most cases it seems to be in frustration at our favourite Time Lord.

Here are the people who have made the Doctor the man he is today.
