15 Best Companions In Doctor Who History
11. Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines)
Here's another 60s companion and also the Second Doctor's affable comedy sidekick. Jamie first appeared in The Highlanders and was about to be hanged for his participation in the second Jacobite uprising when he escaped by running into the TARDIS.
He was a long serving member of the TARDIS crew, at first baffled by the modern world, though he soon seemed to get used to it. Jamie got up to a variety of heroics, including trying to bring down Saladin's dictatorship in The Enemy of the World. He and fellow companion Victoria also had something of a relationship and he found it tough when she decided to quit the TARDIS.
Jamie was sent back to his own time, with no memory of the Doctor, by the Time Lords in The War Games.
