15 Best Documentaries Of 2020
10. Undertaker: The Last Ride
Even if you have no interest whatsoever in professional wrestling, odds are you know who The Undertaker is. The hulking but athletic performer, real name Mark Calaway, has been a main event star in WWE for 30 years now. An old school talent, he has stayed in character as best he can for the majority of his career, but with his time in the ring coming to a close, in 2020 he started to open up.
The five episode WWE Network special on the engrossing career of one of the best to ever do it is among the finest work the company has ever put out. While it’ll obviously mean more if you’re a wrestling fan, you’d be hard pushed not to find the business interesting, especially when given a unique insight by a man who did it all, and for such a protracted period.
Calaway comes across well (even if some of his t-shirt choices are politically questionable) and speaks candidly on a career of mostly ups but significant downs, too. His fellow stars are interviewed in talking heads, and their reverence for Calaway and The Undertaker character tells you all you need to know.
