15 BEST Game Of Thrones Season 8 Theories

2. Bran Wargs Into Viserion

Bran Stark Night King
HBO

As we head into Season 8, Bran Stark is one of the most powerful people in Westeros. Hell, he might well be the most powerful person in Westeros - or the rest of the Known World for that matter - period. He’s certainly the most powerful warg we’ve seen, and now that he is the Three-Eyed Raven he has an almost unmatched green sight ability too, able to see all through time.

For all that, Bran’s biggest part to play in the war to come right now is like something out of Jerry Springer, as he has to reveal to Jon that he’s not Ned Stark’s bastard, but the son of Rhaegary Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, that he’s the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, and that the woman he’s in love with is his aunt.

Important, sure, but not quite fitting with Bran’s power level. And that’s where Viserion comes in. If anyone is more powerful than Bran, it’s the Night King, and now he has a dragon. But take that away from him, and you can help swing the tide back towards the living. Bran has warged into another person, his powers so great that he’s able to influence the past, and it’s possible that could then extend to warging into a dragon.

Bran and the Night King share a connection after Season 6. We know the Night King has a target, which is quite likely Bran. It’d make sense for Bran, as the Three-Eyed Raven, to be prepared to fight him, and battling for control of the undead dragon is perhaps the most epic way that rivalry can play out.
