15 Best Netflix Originals Of 2020 So Far - Ranked

10. The Stranger

This series is a mix of twists, turns and great acting. It is a perfect storm that, when it does come together, makes it one of the stand out shows of 2020 so far.

That is not to say that it is perfect. There are plot threads that simply seem forced into place and still others that seem to fall away into nothing. The reveals, when they come, have far more positive than negative twists (in terms of whether they work or not) and this makes up for the series' shortcomings.

Richard Armitage is centre stage as Adam, a husband and father struggling after his wife goes missing, very shortly after it is revealed to him by a perfect stranger that his wife faked a pregnancy and miscarriage.

Who is the Stranger?

This is a matter that is both one of the series' high points, as the twists and turns keep coming, and arguably one its lows. There is something a little neat in the ending, but not to the point that it spoils the overall arc.

Paul Kaye, of both Game of Thrones and After Life, plays a police man who is so seedy and hateful that it is easy to root for his demise, though more reveals along the way even turn this on its head.

Nothing is truly as it seems in this show. It is a compelling watch.
