15 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of The 21st Century

Created by The Matrix filmmakers Lana and Lily Wachowski, the Netflix series Sense8 may have been cancelled far too soon, but the fresh and inventive sci-fi show nonetheless offered a clever and original outlet for the sisters’ typically superb genre vision.

With a diverse cast of multinational actors, the show boasted not only a thoughtful interrogation of its central conceit (eight strangers discover they’re connected by some mysterious mental and physical force), but also some of the most charming character work and believable relationships in recent sci-fi tv history.

With only two brief but big budget seasons and one special to its name, here’s hoping there will be more Sense8 some day soon, but until then don’t miss out on this underrated gem.
