13. Blitzrieg (Season 6, Episode 8)
The first half of season six shows Teen Wolf at its most mysterious and slow-burning, and comes complete with some of the series' most satisfying pay-offs. Stiles is still missing, erased from reality by the Ghost Riders, and now the rest of Beacon Hills is missing too. By the end of Blitzkrieg, only Scott, Lydia, Liam, Malia, Theo and the Sheriff remain.
There's a lot that goes on in Blitzkrieg. For starters, we get some insight into Douglas's backstory, and are treated to a cruel sequence in which Liam has to watch Mason and Hayden be taken by the Riders. But the best arc of the episode comes from Stilinski, who finally remembers his son for the first time and is forced to let go of his wife once more.
The final scene, in which Stilinski tells the other survivors all about Stiles, makes for one of the show's most poignant moments, and also comes with an added bonus: Stiles's full name! No spoilers here, but it's a doozy.
