15 Best TV Episodes Of 2015

12. Silicon Valley - Two Days Of The Condor

I used to take a tampon, soak it in grain alcohol, and insert it into my rectum. That got me high, Richard. But not half as high as the drug you just gave me. A second chance. Silicon Valley isn't HBO's biggest show, nor the kind typically associated with the channel. It's not a big-budget epic or a starry drama. Instead it's a smaller show, one that's got a lot of smarts and provides a hell of a lot of laughs. It may not be HBO's best show, but it is the funniest. And one of the reasons that the show and the humour works so well is because you actually care about what's at stake, and the characters involved. That's certainly the case in the Season 2 finale, Two Days of the Condor. Things look over for Pied Piper as they look set to lose the lawsuit Hooli has brought against them, only to get out of things on a minor technicality. That story could've provided the arc for the finale on it's own, but here it's just the beginning. What comes next is a breathless race to save the company for a second time in the episode, as Richard has already instructed Gilfoyle to delete everything to keep it from the hands of Hooli, such is the slim chance of a Pied Piper victory. He gets back just as the button is pressed, but fittingly that's the moment that the servers choose not to work, and Pied Piper is saved yet again. After this double victory, though, the rug is pulled from under them once again, as Raviga buys out part of the company and removes Richard as CEO. All that effort, for that to happen. All backdropped by a live-video feed that goes viral, and some absolutely hilarious lines of dialogue between the group.
