Appeared in: Season 1, Episode 21 - "Blind Date" "The world doesn't work in spite of evil, Angel. It works with us. It works because of us." Holland Manners was perhaps the greatest salesperson for evil television has ever seen. The slick used car salesperson of evil, if you will - in the form of a lawyer. A lawyer high up the corporate ladder, with hell's own law firm, Wolfram and Hart. Manners oversaw many of the firm's fresh young go-getters, including Angel's main antagonists Lindsey MacDonald and Lilah Morgan. He also dealt directly with Angel at times, which would come to be his downfall. He wasn't above shooting a wayward employer, and the deaths of innocents meant nothing to him, but what really made him so creepy, besides that well-manicured, businesslike approach to sin? Maybe it's the fact that he was the one who showed Angel what hell really was: life as we know it. Maybe it's the fact that even after his death - which Angel allowed to happen - Manners continued working for the firm, as a perpetuity clause in his contracted granted him immortality in order to continue, well, being evil. Maybe it's the fact that deep down, you had a nagging suspicion that just maybe he was right.
