6. Tate Langdon - American Horror Story: Murder House
FXThis season of American Horror Story was titled Murder House so predictably it offered up a plethora of suitably deranged activities to terrify audiences. The most psychopathic by far was Tate Langdon. First of all we need to get past the fact that this character is actually dead; a ghost visible only to those in the titular Murder House.
Tate begins seeing the father of the family, Ben, who is a therapist. Through Ben he begins a relationship with his daughter Violet who he helps overcome school bullies. As you can imagine having a relationship with a ghost can be very strange It is later revealed that when he was alive, Tate set his mothers lover on fire and went into high school where he committed a Columbine-esque mass shooting, killing several students before returning home and being shot and killed by a SWAT team sent to arrest him.
As a ghost, Tate befriended another ghostly resident of the Murder House, Nora, and promised to give her a baby. He murdered a gay couple who refused to have children in the hopes that a new family would move in. When he realised the sex lives of the Harmon couple were on the rocks after Bens cheating, he impregnates wife Vivien himself wearing that horrific gimp costume. He then begs his mother not to tell Violet what he did, fearing for their relationship.
Part of a very complex storyline, Tate is the epitome of a psychopath and the fact he commits these acts of violence and downright depravity alive AND dead mean hes really something special.
