15 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2020

12. David Collings

Doctor Who Mawdryn
BBC

David Collings had numerous Doctor Who credits to his name, from roles in the main TV show, to vocal performances in Big Finish audio dramas.

Onscreen, he starred opposite the Fourth and Fifth Doctors across an eight-year time period from 1975 to 1983, playing Vorus in Revenge Of The Cybermen, Poul in The Robots Of Death, and, perhaps most famously, Mawdryn in Mawdryn Undead.

He later played an alternative incarnation of the Doctor in the audio drama Full Fathom Five, which was released in 2003.

Collings passed away on 23 March, aged 79.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
