10. The Reapers Descend On Earth To Sterilise A Wound In Time... And Haven't Been Seen Since
Who could ever forget Series 1's emotional escapade in which Rose Tyler defied the odds by spontaneously saving her father from his untimely death, thus unleashing the almighty Reapers who subsequently descended on planet Earth to devour the entire human race? Well, the writers, apparently. Because it makes perfect sense - relatively speaking - for there to be some sort of ominous demonic species living to sterilise wounds in time, except the Doctor & Co are always rewriting history so, in theory, the Reapers should be popping up a lot more than they have. Which is a grand total of once. Yes, things were a bit more problematic on this occasion, since there were two versions of Rose in one place and she even touched herself as a baby (so to speak) at one point, but what about when Kazran Sardick hugged himself as a boy in A Christmas Carol and the only thing that exploded was Katherine Jenkins' vocal chords? "Time can be rewritten", and all that jazz, but seemingly only when the narrative depends on it.
