14. Sherlock: The Show Is Becoming More Consistent

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss could do no wrong after Sherlock Holmes threw himself from the top of the St. Bart's rooftop, and captivated the world with a mysterious phenomenon. Well, they could do no wrong with Sherlock; there are still those who want to string up Mr Moffat and subject him to a month of 'Love & Monsters' on repeat, for his crimes against Doctor Who. Though there were large numbers of Sherlockians voicing their disappointment for Series 3 - are we going to find out how he did it? Is Sherlock getting hammered genuinely worth an episode? Moriarty... really? - the IMDB statistics actually argue that this series was the most consistent. Series 2 may have packed big-hitters 'A Scandal In Belgravia' and 'The Reichenbach Fall' (rated 9.5 and 9.6 respectively), but it let itself down with 'The Hound of the Baskervilles (still a respectable 8.5); the Series 3 episodes on the other hand were rated 9.1, 9 and 9.5 respectively. Yes, trollied Sherlock is 9/10 entertainment. Admittedly, there isn't there much data to go on, as there are only nine episodes in total. If these figures are anything to go by though, they're certainly worth the wait.
