13. Peep Show: The Last Series Took An All-Time Low

The next series of Peep Show will probably be the last. Robert Webb's discussed spectacularly killing one of the El Dude brothers off, and David Mitchell's already up for a reunion twenty years down the line. What exactly has prompted this decision to call it a day though? Has it got that bad? It's not an incredible dip, but fans seem to think that Peep Show has wavered of late. Only the opener of Series 8 was up the usual standard, with four of the six episodes dropping below a 7.5/10 rating; Peep Show had never dropped that low before, and Series 8 reached an average of 7.5 overall. Compare that to Series 4, which managed 8.45, and you might wonder what went wrong exactly. Not enough Johnson? Too much Dobby? Or have fans just got bored of the show? Hopefully the show can end on a high when it returns for one last hurrah. It's Channel 4's longest-running sitcom, and it was one of the most consistent until recently.
