15 Great Sci-Fi Shows (Nobody Ever Talks About)
11. Lexx
A silly and strange, but largely warm-hearted, parody
of its early 2000s contemporaries such as Babylon Five, Battlestar Galactica, The
Next Generation, and Deep Space Nine, the Sci-Fi Channel’s Lexx followed the
crew of the eponymous spaceship as they travelled the galaxy and encountered
all manner of robots, alien life forms, and most often pretty brilliant piss takes
of contemporary society and culture.
The adventures of Stanley, Zev, Kai, and 790 weren’t as high octane as their more serious sci-fi inspirations, but at its best this scrappy crew offered up some sci-fi satire which could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Futurama for charming wit and inventive character comedy.
