Airing: Pilot Ordered Sometimes it feels like Preacher has been in development for as long as there has been TV: it's been through development hell a couple of times at a canter and before the latest pilot order, it looked like the outrageous man on a mission comic would never make it. But then Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg stepped up to the plate (or the pulpit) and confessed their love of the property, promising to treat Garth and Steve Dillon's source material right. This Is The End at least proved the pair can work together, but then a TV show is a different prospect entirely, no matter how well-loved the material. How they'll deal with Reverend Jesse Custer's rampage across America looking for God without giving up too much to the censors and "common sense" remains to be seen. But at least everyone can finally say it's in the works - hopefully not with Rogen also starring. The Selling Point: It's Preacher - deliriously popular, delightfully outrageous and it looks like it's being adapted by genuine fans. Concerns: Again, Green Hornet left a bad taste concerning Rogen's ability to adapt. But then that source material is nowhere near as strong (or as adapter-appropriate) as Preacher is.
