3. Powers
Airing: Late 2015 Airing any TV show on a platform as unconventional as the Playstation Network might be considered an odd strategy, but then the same was probably said hundreds of times in the run up to Netflix taking a healthy bite out of "normal" airing formats. But this is still new business, and debuting something as bold (read high concept) as Powers that way could just as easily be as dangerous as it is ingenious. The source itself is the major selling point of course: a police department focused entirely on super-crimes, overseen by an odd-couple partnership of Sharlto Copley's depowered hero and Susan Heyward's ballsy, live-wire detective. Copley isn't exactly the first name you'd pick out of the pot for Christian Walker, but at least he's primarily a good actor. The Selling Point: The source material and indeed the concept is perfect for adaptation, as Sony have known for almost 15 years. Concerns: It's been in development, in one form or another since 2001, which is an almighty time for something that should have been an easy pick-up. Does that mean there have been problems?
