1. The Walking Dead Spin-Off (Cobalt)
Airing: 2016? It's hard to quantify the excitement that has already met Robert Kirkman's new project, but it would be fair to say it's not on any kind of conventional scale. Such is the fandom of the main show that the project codenamed Cobalt was always going to have an established audience base, but even with that assumption in place, the reaction has been staggering. And that is particularly shocking considering how little material has been released. All that is known for certain right now is that none of the main cast will appear, and that the show will follow at least five characters: another father/son duo, as well as a mother and her two children (including young Voldemort actor Frank Dillane and rumoured to be British) and a "40-something wilted flower" called Andrea. So far that's about all there is, but that won't stop the hype machine ploughing on. The Selling Point: More Walking Dead can never be classed as a bad thing, and spin-offs CAN sometimes outstrip the main event. Concerns: Though the original show does depart from the page sometimes, it's guided by a very strong source, and who is to say that the same kind of quality will transfer across to a brand new project?
