15 Important Life Lessons We Learned From South Park

10. ...But There's Nothing More Important Than Freedom Of Speech

Even if you don€™t respect other religions, are intolerant and extremist (hey, much like Cartman), the South Park guys sure do respect the first amendment. One of their best epic two-parter episodes was all about it: Cartoon Wars. In a famous stab against the reckless irreverence of Family Guy where its randomness is accused to be completely unjustified to the story, Cartoon Wars blows the idea out of proportion. Members of the Muslim faith are outraged over an innocent depiction of their prophet Muhammad, despite South Park itself showing him in an earlier episode Super Best Friends to no reaction. Cartman uncharacteristically fights for the respect for other religions while Kyle fights for freedom of speech with war or Family Guy€™s future at stake. And of course it€™s freedom of speech that wins out. You may not respect other religions but you still have the right to say what you like and argue against the flaws.
