15 Most Annoying Mistakes You Never Noticed In The Walking Dead

5. Daryl’s Moveable Tattoos

Episode: Home (S3, E10)

In Season 3 after the brothers Dixon have been reunited and decided to set out on their own after Rick forbids Merle sanctuary at the prison, they come across a Mexican family trapped in their car and beset by hungry walkers. Daryl, well into his transition from racist redneck to mumbling hero, trots off to save them.

Merle, still fully in racist redneck mode, disagrees with Daryl putting his neck on the line for them resulting in a tussle that reopens some old wounds, during which Daryl’s shirt gets ripped off showing off the scars inflicted by the brothers’ abusive father during their childhood.

It also shows us a tattoo of two winged demons on the upper right hand side of Daryl’s back, but when we next see the tattoo it’s mysteriously switched to the upper left of his back. It’s actually one of Norman Reedus’ many real-life tattoos, so this is more likely a result of the shot getting flipped post-production rather than his tattoo having the magic ability to move across his skin.

Still, you’d think at least one eagle-eyed editor would’ve spotted the error.
