15 Most Hotly Anticipated New TV Shows Still To Come In 2016

4. The Get Down (Netflix)

The Crown Zorn Cage Grand Tour Pope
Netflix

While The Crown may become Netflix's most expensive series when it arrives in November, it'll be beaten to our screens by another huge-budget show from the streaming service, who have really been splashing the cash this year.

This one comes from Hollywood director Baz Luhrmann and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, which means we can expect some serious storytelling along with grandiose production design, and tell the story of a bunch of Bronx kids at the outset of hip-hop, disco, and punk, with a struggling New York City providing the backdrop.

It will mostly feature a cast of newcomers, while Bronx statesmen will be played by Jimmy Smits and Giancarlo Esposito, and music will obviously play a huge part in the series. Hopefully this one can succeed where Vinyl failed.

Air Date: August 12.
