Black Mirror may have dropped its interactive episode, Bandersnatch, at the end of 2018, but that thankfully isn't in lieu of a proper fifth season.

While the choose your own adventure game was fun, it couldn't quite conjure up the same satisfying narrative as a more conventional Black Mirror episode, and it's been confirmed that is in the works and on the way in 2019, likely towards the end of the year.

Details at this stage are understandably scarce, although we do know that Miley Cyrus will appear in one of the episodes, and that creator Charlie Brooker has promised more of an optimistic tone than the fatalistic approach that has dominated the series since its inception. Although optimistic for Black Mirror doesn't necessarily equate to happy, it'll still be good to see the show shaking things up a little bit.
