Now we're going old school... released in the classical Hollywood period in the 1960s, The Outer Limits was a mysterious, engrossing and ultimately wildly popular release that enraptured many, while also being compared to The Twilight Zone.

When it was on air, it was reportedly so captivating that viewers would take their bulky TV sets round places to ensure they wouldn't miss a single episode. It went on to inspire countless other properties such as Star Trek and even James Cameron's The Terminator. With the limited amount of special effects available at the time, the show's creators had to get creative in production.

It all starts with its use of older style film noir and German expressionism to frame the scenes, which often involve a combination of science-fiction and suspense-driven scares. The eerie atmosphere that hung over the episodes was one of its defining features, but the attention to detail kept going with creepy looking costume work for the monsters by Project Unlimited.

The impact these techniques have remains both memorable and This older release may appear dated at first glance, but the producers made the most of limited technology to create a series that would stand the test of time.
