15 Most Visually Stunning Sci-Fi TV Shows

11. Westworld

The Expanse
HBO

Boasting a high critical reception over the last five years, Westworld, produced by HBO follows the breakdown and eventual rampage of androids that become self-aware, much to the suffering of guests who come to the theme park to bring their desires to Visual effects supervisor Jay Worth set about creating detailed doubles of the main cast, so that the audience wouldn't be able to tell the difference between human and machine.

On the small screen, the full visual detail of Crichton's original work has been realised and as a result, Westworld is one of the most easily well defined and easily recognised shows in recent years.

Westworld immediately makes an impression with its sleek art style and clean look, pulling you into this futuristic amusement park and its massive collection of sentient androids. What's interesting about the effects is well they interact with the main cast.

The inner parts of the machines are all brilliantly presented and the park itself is a silver, futuristic marvel. The special effects have really taken a step up in the newly released third season, which has seen the action move into more urban areas; on the whole, it's still a visual tour-de-force.
