10. Star Wars: The Clone Wars

In a bid to expand outside of the episodic releases, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was pitched as a way to fill in the gaps between Episodes II and III as the Republic and Confederacy waged war across the galaxy far, far away.

The series initially got off to a bad start, launching with a feature-length animated film that did little to repair the battered reputation of the Star Wars prequels. However as the series went deeper, the fandom started to grow and the initial six seasons that ran from 2008 to 2014 were very well recieved. A lot of this was down to the excellent animation that expanded the franchise's horizons and introduced new, memorable characters.

Winning many accolades and taking the story right up to the closing events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: The Clone Wars stands as one of the most popular branches of the long-running franchise. It was able to transcend its Cartoon Network roots to reach a wider audience, with some saying it surpasses the more recent Star Wars movies.

Lucasfilm Animation did a great job with the visuals, so much so that the series was revived earlier in 2020 was a final seventh
