1. The Lego Star Trek: The Video Game

For every franchise, there's a video game, and this could be the one that really works for Star Trek

Either this is a brand new standalone adventure, or the game could explore the existing Star Trek movies. Admiral Kirk might need to build parts of V'Ger to reveal its full name or steal the Enterprise by collecting keys through the levels.

Each character could then have particular abilities. Spock could use his science skills to open up secret passages and reveal mini-kits, while Sulu might provide navigation skills to plot a safe path back through the forest with Chekov as part of The Final Frontier. There's definite scope for a lot of fun here, as fans would literally construct their adventure and collect. By the end, you might have Scotty as part of your team, fighting off the Borg or Mariner tracking down the Horta. This is certainly where the game would excel. Imagine stepping into the Enterprise-D holodeck to unlock your mini-kits and build a small-scale Equinox or Doomsday Machine!

As a more light-hearted sojourn into the Star Trek franchise, it would draw gamers of all ages. Different characters and missions would draw the multiple generations of the franchise together and offer up a new spin on old adventures, one piece at a time.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
