15 Ups & 0 Downs For Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2

6. UP — Chakotay, The Jane-Way

I think it is fair to say that Chakotay has received far more character development as Captain in season two of Star Trek: Prodigy (and some of season one) than he ever did as Commander across most of Star Trek: Voyager, particularly towards the end. Naturally, you can't have the former without the latter, but it has been a highlight and a delight to see him front and centre (seat), bearded, cowboy-hatted, and in the mirror too, with, may I add once more, some simply sublime voice work from Robert Beltran.

From his ship (and Dal's) that forms the main focus of the season-long arc, to the shipping of the J/C kind, you don't have to be familiar with beta canon or fan fiction to have been deeply moved by Chakotay's reunion with Janeway at the end of Cracked Mirror, or by mirror (of Isabo's Shirt) and stone in Observer's Paradox. Chakotay and Janeway are clearly destined for each other in a manner that had already transcended and traversed over 70,000 light-years of space, plus now 10 years of time.
