17 Shows To Binge-Watch Before They Return This Fall

16. Jane The Virgin

You€™d be forgiven for overlooking sitcom Jane the Virgin on the basis of its premise: a young, religious, Latin woman, who is funnily enough a virgin, ends up getting pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake.

To make things worse the donor is a married cancer survivor who just so happens to be her former teenage crush. It takes some buying into, sounding more like a cheap daytime soap-opera than sitcom, but managed to be one of the most surprising and charming hits of the 2014-15 season.

Among a host of critical praise for its writing and performances were a Golden Globe nomination, for best comedy TV series, and a win for lead actress Gina Rodriguez. It€™s back on The CW on October 19, so there€™s more than enough time to watch the first 22 episodes.
