8. Daredevil
This entry won’t be the last time the design company Elastic appears on this list. The firm’s television opening credits portfolio is massive, including visual masterpieces like Altered Carbon, The Night Manager, and of course, Marvel’s Daredevil.
Patrick Clair, the Daredevil title sequence director, wanted the introduction to showcase “the insidious corruption that’s creeping into the city in the wake of The Avengers.” The sequence delivers a one-tone animation of dark red liquid pouring over Lady Liberty and New York scenery.
The viscous fluid slowly envelops religious and judicial formations like a more enchanting re-enactment of The Invisible Man. You could see the sticky substance as the corruption oozing across New York, or how the blind Matt Murdoch, aka the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, views the world both literally and figuratively.
