17 Visually Stunning TV Opening Credits

Digital Kitchen, the makers of the Emmy-nominated True Blood, is back again. This time with the Emmy-winning and chilling Dexter title sequence. This time, rather than developing the atmosphere around a particular place, the opening credits focus squarely on the serial killer.

This intro takes us through the most nauseating morning routine ever, as Dexter prepares for his job as a blood-splatter analyst. Extreme close-ups of Dexter chewing on bacon and squeezing pulpy grapefruit are exceedingly discomforting thanks to their connotations. It’s no wonder either, as Digital Kitchen's Creative Director Eric Anderson was inspired by actual crime scene photography.

While these everyday activities should be dull as dishwater, the intense cinematography screams that something unnerving lurks beneath Dexter’s surface.
