7. Mac's Dance - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

While many moments on this list encapsulate what makes their shows great, Mac's dance stands out because it's unlike anything you could have ever imagined It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia doing.

It starts with Mac telling his father that he's gay, before launching into a near 5-minute modern dance sequence, perfectly executed by a ripped Rob McElhenney and Kylie Shea. Even just on a technical level, it's marvellous: an evocative, rain-soaked dance sequence that mixes atmosphere with emotion. It's a gorgeous representation of everything he's going through, being pulled one way and the other, always struggling.

But then on a character level it becomes something else entirely. You have Mac, who has struggled for so long with his identity and to express himself, doing this incredible dance. You have the anguish of his father, the person he's reaching out to and seeking the acceptance of, leaving. And then you have Frank, the guy who never understands 'different', crying and admitting he gets it. On any show it'd be a beautiful, breathtaking sequence, but especially on this show.
