5. Bringing In Actors To Throw Off The Scent

Of all the seasons, the final one was where security was kept at it's tightest. No leaks regarding the plot could get out and the team were ready to pull out the occasional red herrings to stop anyone sussing out the ending.

When filming returned to Spain for the scene in the dragon pit, multiple endings were apparently shot, with only the actors, writers and directors knowing the final outcome. Things went even further when actors from the show, who had nothing to do with the days shooting, were brought in to throw off journalist's scents.

Kit Harrington was seen entering Seville, even though his character was imprisoned during that time. Vladimir Furdik, who played the Night King, was also present and loving life, interacting with fans of the show and making them think the army of the dead had made it to Kings Landing.

Two more innocuous names were Tom Wlaschiha and Faye Marsey, who played Jaqen H'ghar and Waif respectively, adding fuel to the theory fire that Arya was really killed by the Waif in Braavos, and that it was really Waif wearing the Stark daughter's face the whole time.
