19. Sheila Reid
In 1985, Sheila Reid played Etta, a citizen of the planet Varos who enjoys watching the Punishment Dome broadcast, where political dissidents and rebels are tortured for punishment and for public entertainment. She has a husband named Arak and appears in both parts of the serial. It wasn't until much later that Reid reappeared on Doctor Who, this time as Clara Oswald's Gran. In The Time of the Doctor, she joins the family for Christmas dinner and reminisces about how she met Clara's grandfather. She's also quite flirtatious with the Eleventh Doctor, who turns up naked because of his faulty perception filter. Mostly recently, in Dark Water, she comforts Clara after the loss of Danny Pink. Perhaps fans will see her again before Clara's run as a companion is finished.
