20 Animated TV Shows That Are Practically Flawless
17. Daria
There has rarely if ever been a more impactful portrait of teenage angst and high school life than Glenn Eichler's Daria, a daring spin-off from Beavis & Butt-Head that follows its titular character as she dryly confronts the messed-up world around her.
Aided by a host of memorable supporting players, from Daria's best friend Jane to her loving parents Jake and Helen and mean girl sister Quinn, the show's sandpaper dry wit and relatable mix of cynicism and wholesomeness made it a glorious hit, and one that's aged with the times almost eerily well.
Beavis & Butt-Head may be the more iconic and popular show in this franchise, but Daria's intelligence and maturity easily make it the best show, which is why it makes the cut here. Sorry.
