This neo-noir sci-fi classic may only have twenty-six episodes to its name, but that's more than enough to qualify it a place on this list. After all, who watching Cowboy Bebop hasn't fallen head over heels in love with it?

Set in the late 21st century, the show follows a group of bounty hunters who must complete a variety of missions whilst grappling with their troubled pasts. Each episode is standalone in nature, but when combined they form a vivid, compelling narrative that spans years and dozens of complex characters.

Heavy on the action and stylishly executed, Cowboy Debop deserved many more years on-air to stretch its legs, but what we got still made it a cult classic worthy of its placement here.
